The Wise Decision I Made

The decision to take a course called Happy For No Reason during this pandemic was the best one I have ever made.

People tell me that  I have always been optimistic, upbeat, talkative (all my old report cards said so), and outgoing but that was me on the outside.  The truth is that I was always seeking.   Seeking for my biological father who I found out about when I was thirteen but never met, seeking approval for anything, and just looking for attention.

In the foster homes, I received the wrong kind of attention that still haunts me today and in the all-girls convent where I lived for just about three years with one hundred other lost and lonely little girls like me, I was invisible.   I left home when I was fifteen, but I finished high school and missed my graduation because I had a paying Gig.  Yes, I found a place to get all the attention I needed.  I thought.  Music was my savior for many years.

Would you like to wake up tomorrow and just be a little happier?  I am sure you answered “yes”!

Did you know that unhappiness is an epidemic, especially during this pandemic?  So many people are on antidepressants and not doing well financially, emotionally, spiritually and/or physically.  That is why I want to share Happiness Secrets with you.  You can use or ignore what you read. We all need different things at different times in our life, but if you are reading this, then I am honored and I want to take this opportunity to share some ideas, habits and techniques with you.

Happiness Secret #1: I use the Inner Ease Technique. (www.HeartMath.org). It creates “flow” by helping to regulate the balance between your heart, mind, and emotions.  Notice when you are feeling bad and take a moment to acknowledge the feelings as soon as you sense them, frustration, anger, impatience, anxiety, etc., and BREATH.  Breath in slowly and gently, put your hand on your heart if it helps you. That helps me to focus. With every slow and deliberate breath in feel a sense of inner ease and infuse your mind with emotions and self-love.  Breath in compassion and love and exhale any judgement, negative thoughts, or feelings.  When I breathe in I think of someone I love and it really helps me.  This just takes a few minutes.  Try it!
